Synopsis
In a castle, high on a hill, overlooking a small village, lives the wealthy but cruel Lady dela Cama.She was once beautiful and gregarious but now lives alone, seen only by the villagers whose homes she owns.

She yearns for her past happiness and hates to see anyone cheerful. She particularly despises one of her tenants - the village toy maker - for he is always smiling and surrounded by happy, laughing children.

She determines to be rid of the toy maker for good and orders him to leave his home.

The old man is heartbroken but one night, long after he has gone to bed, strange noises are heard in his workshop as the toys he is repairing come to life and embark on a plan to save his home.
